The Witch Rescues Her Werewolf A Nocturne Falls Universe story edition by Cate Dean Kristen Painter Paranormal Romance eBooks
Setting: Nocturne Falls, GA ContemporaryGenre: Paranormal romance
Lidia Reston, a witch, moved to Nocturne Falls from California in the hopes that she'll be able to find a way to stop losing her magic. She meets Harrison Grey, a werewolf unable to shift due to an injury, when he trips over the threshold of his souvenir shop and lands at her feet. There's instant attraction, but Harry (as Lidia calls him) is reluctant to get involved because women leave as soon as they learn his secret. They get beyond that conflict, but there are a couple of other ones, having to do with her witchy powers and his inability to shift.
This is a well written story as far as grammar, usage, and spelling go. The characters are likable and the premise, though not unique, is handled well. Where I have concerns has to do with Lidia. Is she independently wealthy? What does she do for work? Does she have family? The only thing we learn about her backstory is that she's from California, she left most of what she owns at her ex's place, she has a cat, she bought a house sight unseen, and she's losing her powers. Harry, on the other hand, is a bit more fully developed. He has a job (he owns a shop), he lives in an apartment over his store, he's a loner, a klutz, has chronic pain at the site of his injury, he attended boarding school in NY, then went to Cambridge, and his cousin is a bully. His mother passed away and he's been back in Nocturne Falls for around a year. There are two villains, one for each protagonist, but both Ned (Lidia's ex) and Jared (Harrison's cousin) are flat, one dimensional caricatures.
Despite the sense of incompleteness, if you enjoy Kristen Painter's Nocturne Falls series, this will feed the need until she publishes her next book.

The Witch Rescues Her Werewolf A Nocturne Falls Universe story edition by Cate Dean Kristen Painter Paranormal Romance eBooks Reviews
Thought this was a good story, however it didn't tell the whole story. The two main characters were very likeable and the storyline enjoyable but we never found out why Harrison lost his 'shifter' side or if Lidia managed to get her magic back. Still, Cate Dean did catch the feeling of Nocturne Falls
I really enjoyed this latest in the Nocturne Falls Universe. The story centers around a witch who is losing her magic and a werewolf that can't shift. These two lost souls find a kindred spirit in each other. The story was a sweet romance, very enjoyable. I was left with an unanswered question at the end - looking forward to her next book to discover the answer! Enjoy!
This fit right Into the world that Kristen painter has thrilled us with. I giggled through some parts and hurt through others right along with them. These characters were a wonderful addition and I can't wait to see where their future and the towns goes. It was definitely a love to route for. Both harry and Lidia both desperately need to heal from their past and are thrust Into each others arms. Together they help each other and find that love may still conquer all.
A couple more pages to wrap up so much would have been nice . I get they didn't care and were very I to each other but if one got her power back she could have helped him or if he got repaired he could have mated her pack style . Restitution from the rival or confrontation of daddy . Lots of potential material to play with. Maybe a second story further along .what about her witch enemy lots of good angst potential there too. Good clean writing , it moved nicely .
Cate Dean brings us another look into the wonderful world of Kristin Painter's delightful series - Nocturne Falls.
Dean's characters are very adorable and fit perfectly into Nocturne Falls. Her story follows along very nicely with what Painter has established in the original series.
Dean makes great use of the characters and setting form the original which is very nice. This is a very seamless extension of Nocturne Falls.
I look forward to more by Dean, both in Nocturne Falls and with her own books.
I really like this author's work. She develops her plots and charachters to merge with the main line of Nocturne Falls. There is a sweet hope behind the story even though the lead couple have gone through and still go through very ugly difficult stuff. I really enjoyed how Harry and Lidia help each other to grow stronger and more confident. They don't solve each other's problems but they love each other as is and believe in each other as is. Great stuff!
Cate Dean does a marvelous job integrating her own characters into the Nocturne Falls world. I really liked the characters and want to know more about Elias, the gargoyle. I'm really hoping her next story will be about him. I'm so happy she's publishing more in this world!
